Renaissance Room

This splendid first floor chamber looks out towards the front gardens on one side and the Gothic Courtyard on the other.  It was used during the 16th century when Henri of Navarre planned the meeting between the Viscount of Lautrec and the English Queen Elizabeth 1st – requesting that she send an army to support the Protestants of the South against the Catholic persecutors of the North.

The Renaissance Room provides seating for up to 20 guests in a formal dinner style, seated at a 17th century monk’s table and lit by candlelight.  Eating within this room provides a real castle ambience and a sense of being part of the Chateau’s thousand year history.
