The ground-floor Templar Suite [5.6m by 5.5m] is the oldest room in the Château, being part of the original 11th century keep, once surrounded by a dry moat. The ancient arrow slit and musket hole reflects the changes of battle weaponry during the medieval age. The remains of the 12th century gothic fireplace were traced in the wall and has now been authentically restored.
The bedroom combines rich gold and velvet red colours within cream and yellow stoned walls. The room contains a king-sized bed [1.6m by 2.0m] and antiques from the 18th century. Double doors provide access to the south facing terrace where stunning views of the gardens and valley can be enjoyed.
The olive green and white bathroom is situated adjacent in the West Tower – providing a large walk-in shower area, sink, towel rail and large gilt mirror, along with hair dryer, towels and toiletries. The cold running water is direct from the mains and potable.
